We are often confronted with the following question: "Is it possible to use the Cablelock retaining system in combination with a burst protection sleeve?"
From our perspective this combination is reasonable, even though the burst protection sleeve is pressed tightly onto the outer surface of the hose at the attachment point of the retaining system and thus results in a functional impairment at this point. The user should add this circumstance to his list of residual risks.
Please watch the following video for a demonstration:
As is normally the case, we recommend working with Cablelock AS-Tape which is applied to the burst protection hose. The burst protection hose should be pulled taut in the area of the wire rope and any overlap should be placed below the tensioner lock.
The inner diameter ID of the burst protection hose should always be approx. 50% more than the outer diameter of the inside hose to be protected (see also www.flexo-protect.de).
